In Which Oxjam Was Oxfab

The pun is piss poor I know, but let's get past it and on with the rest of the blog. Whilst I didn't get to explore the full festival, I will say the talent on the Acoustic and Spoken Word Stage was incredible. Every artist gave it their absolute all. Dan Greaves gave us a beautiful and warm start to the day, Jess Edwards brought some haunting melancholy songs, Helen Rhodes bore her soul with outstanding prose and twisted fairy tales, Disguises snuck into our hearts (pun intended), Fran Bundey had the room swaying to hypnotic vocal loops, The Bleeding Obvious opened our eyes to everyday house hold objects and to the plight of our siblings in the LGBT community before Louie James brought the

National Poetry Day - A Quick Blog

It's 8.35am and I'm on a bus to my second job, Twitter is slowly waking up to National Poetry Day tweets and celebrations and I've got posts ready for Instagram to drop through the day. But I want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone that continues to support both myself and the entire poetry community. Be it reading collections and anthologies, watching performance videos on YouTube or supporting their local scene. If today you feel inspired to write, do it! If you want to live stream a reading, do it! No-one can take it away from you.
